Custom Artwork Guidelines
Please note that all artwork must be in PURE black and white, this means that there can be no grayscale or shading.
If you are sending a custom logo that you have artwork for, send a file in one of these formats in the largest resolution that you can: .ai OR .eps OR .pdf.
If you are going to search for a design and send that to us, please follow these instructions:
- Go to www.google.com
- Type in a description of what you are looking for in the seach bar, i.e., Bigfoot, and press enter.
- When the new window opens up, select "Images" at the top.
- Now choose "Search Tools" and a tool bar drops down.
- Choose "Size" and select "Large"
- Choose "Color" and select "Black and White"
You can sometimes find what you are looking for in this section, however if it is still a photograph then it will not work. If you cannot find a non-photograph option, then follow the next steps.
- Choose "Type" and select "Clip Art."
From here, when you find something you like, open the image and save it to your computer. Every so often you may need to make one more adjustment and that would be changing the size to "Medium." If you do this please make sure that you do not choose a size smaller than 400 by 400.
Notes on submitting color photographs and prints:
We are unable to use photographs of any kind for barrel engraving. Our laser machines only see in two colors, and those are TRUE black and white. Do not submit a black and white photograph however, as these are not true black and white, rather they have thousands of layers of grayscale. Sometimes it is possible to create a line drawing from your desired photograph, but it must have the shading removed in order for it to be clear.
The same applies to color graphics and prints. The only way that these will work as barrel engravings is if they are a true black and white.
If the logo or design that you submitted with your order is trademarked, the only way we will be able to engrave it on a barrel is if you send over a release, i.e., permission to use the trademark. If you hold the proper release for the logo, send it to our engraver, making sure to reference your order number in the email subject.
Now that you are ready to send your file over, send it to the following email address: email@example.com.
Subject line of the email should reference your order number, which is located in the top right corner of your order form.
